Pupils enjoyed an action-packed week in Wales, packed with adventure, exploration and opportunities to challenge themselves. After a long journey to Llanberis Campsite, the children quickly got to work setting up their tents, showing excellent teamwork and determination as they prepared for the week ahead.
The first day included a walk around Llyn Padarn and a visit to the historic Quarry Hospital Museum in Llanberis, where pupils learned about the lives of quarry workers and the pioneering medical practices that once took place there.
Throughout the week, pupils tackled a range of exciting outdoor activities. They completed a challenging mountain hike through Newborough Forest and along Newborough Beach, taking in spectacular coastal views and demonstrating resilience as they completed their first 10km mountain walk. A thrilling speedboat ride around the Menai Strait proved to be a particular highlight, with many children describing it as one of the best experiences they had ever had.
Another memorable day saw the group walk the historic Roman Road from Aber Falls to Rowen. The demanding hike showcased the pupils’ perseverance and positive attitudes, with everyone encouraging one another along the route. The day ended with plenty of excitement as they enjoyed tobogganing at Llandudno Snowsports Centre.
The camp concluded with a boat trip to Puffin Island, where pupils were delighted to spot a puffin swimming and feeding in the water. The trip also included views of a shipwreck and famous filming locations, providing a fitting end to an unforgettable week.
Staff were incredibly proud of the children, who represented the school brilliantly at every stage. Their enthusiasm, resilience, teamwork and excellent behaviour made the camp a huge success, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
